Navigating your way through a labyrinth of alleyways, whose secrets always delight kids, you’ll get the taste for adventure pretty quickly. Once you’ve got your bearings, you may wish to venture outside the Medina and see what else Morocco has to offer as family entertainment.
Things to do in Marrakech with kids
As British ex-pats that have raised our own family here, we can say whole-heartedly that there is LOTS of family fun to have on your holiday in Marrakech. In our own attempt to entertain (and exhaust) the kids, we’ve tried every activity and day out that we recommend to you.
Here are a few of our favourite things to do with kids in and around Marrakech:
Oasiria Water Park – one of the best family days out in Marrakech! Oasiria is a very beautiful, well designed water park with excellent restaurants. Its vast gardens are wonderful, the whole family can enjoy some space to have fun and play. There are different areas which offer activities for various ages and abilities – multiple slides, wave pool, lazy river and kids' splash areas.
Moroccan Cooking Course & Spa at Zamzam – families love to do a cooking course at Zamzam, children thoroughly enjoy it. Children are also welcome in the Zamzam Spa and we encourage families to experience our Sahara Camp and take a cultural tour with children through the mountains to the desert. They love it!
Anima Gardens – an exciting sculpture garden just outside Marrakech. The garden is full of colour and children love to play hide n’seek and engage with the interactive statues.
The ‘Waky’ Club – perfect for teens and the more adventurous that fancy some wakeboarding fun. Located in Marrakech.
Majorelle Gardens – superb for families, not too big but packed with wonderful plants, colour and water features.
Marrakech Museum of Astrology – view the night sky through huge telescopes with guidance from their astrologers. Outdoor cinema on site too.
The Museum of African Contemporary Art – A very good exhibition with dedicated educational section just for kids located at Al Maadan.
Mohammed VI Museum of Water Civilisation – an interactive museum on water conservation in Morocco.
Palmeraie Bike Tour – an easy ride around the Palmeraie of Marrakech (palm grove). Excellent for families.
Caleche Ride – take a horse and carriage tour of Marrakech, an exciting thing for kids to do and great when their legs are a tired. Trust us, they never tire of it!
Jarjeer Donkey & Mule Sanctuary – a wonderful thing to do, meet the rescued and retired donkeys and mules and enjoy lunch while ‘giving back’ to the charity. A great thing for the family to experience and very popular with younger children.
